The Sausage Man

I've been living at my accomodation since arriving about a month ago and I noticed a very interesting character on the same floor as me. He's a middle-aged guy in his late 30s and he is always very formally dressed on weekdays, usually decked in a long sleeve business shirt and dress pants. What I find most amusing about him is that he is always frying sausages in the communal kitchen!

Everytime I see him in the kitchen, he would be armed with a fryer and four medium sausages in his frying pan and he would turn on the stove and start frying. Each time you can tell it's a different type of sausage due to the colour of the sausage skin. I have nothing against sausages but isn't he sick of eating them?

I'm already sick of my own cooking and I have been cooking so many different things!

Extended Lease

I have no choice but to extend my lease at my current temporary location.

I couldn't stand the house-hunting and the feeling of uncertainty anymore.

I just want to get settled down!

No Home

My agent wants five months worth of rent as bond, the security deposit!

That means including the first month's rental is almost a AUD$10,000 upfront payment. I don't see how anyone in the right mind that will fork out that amount of money upfront. It's too crazy! Argh!

Homeless now... Right after Christmas!!! Booooooo!!!

House Hunting is Not Fun

I've been doing rental inspections every other day for the last two weeks.

These are my thoughts:

1) I hate competing with other more qualified people who EMPLOYED.
2) I hate showing up for the inspection with like 20 other people.
3) I hate submitting the application and just waiting in vain for the reply.
4) I hate that I'm going to be homeless in 4 days.
5) I hope that my last application will be approved!

Keeping my fingers crossed... Keeping my fingers crossed...

Temporary Accomodation

I've just booked my temporary accomodation online that's $49 per day for two weeks. My fingers are crossed in hope to look for a more permanent place within the first two weeks of my arrival.

I'll be booked until the 27 Dec.

Well, at least I won't be homeless for Christmas!

Taking The Road Less Travelled

Finally! The day is set. 13th December will be the day that my life will change completely.

I have been planning my move to Melbourne for the last few months with little progress and today I decided to just book a plane ticket and just go!

Planning doesn't get my anywhere. Perhaps not planning would get me somewhere.

I don't come from a particularly rich family. My parents were just normal middle-class civil servants working for the government. However, all my life, my parents gave me almost everything I have asked for that was within their means.

If I wanted piano lessons, I got it. If I wanted a guitar, all I had was ask for one. If I wanted a new computer, we would just head out to buy one, just like that. If I wanted to study overseas, it was almost as easy as snapping my fingers and it was done.

However, the piano lessons only lasted until Grade 5 at which point I decided it was too difficult and I gave up. The guitar has been sitting in the corner collecting dust after just barely three lessons. Well, at least I can say I did manage to graduate from university.

It seems as though my life is just perfect. Too perfect that it was just too much perfection and too little life. My whole life seemed to be in a protective bubble and lacking of life experiences. Until today, I still don't have an inkling of what I want to do in life. No passion, no calling. Every new hobby lasts about two weeks before it burns out.

Perhaps this is why I have decided to return to Melbourne to start things anew. Being away from all things comfortable might just give me the opportunity to "find" myself... To not choose the easiest path is to take on the road less travelled.
